Usnea Glycerine Tincture 2oz by Supreme Nutrition. Antimicrobial, Biofilm, Yeast

Usnea barbata, or Old Man’s Beard, is a lichen with a long history of being used in herbal medicine. We chose to come out with it as a tincture for its antibacterial properties, especially for respiratory infections.* There are several active constituents found in usnea, including those with antimicrobial, anti-oxidant, and polyphenolic properties. It is most well-known for treating certain infections, including those affecting the throat, respiratory tract, mouth, skin, and urinary tract.* Usnea can also interfere with biofilm formation and quorum sensing.*

We extract our tincture with organic cane alcohol, which is then boiled off (as much as possible while retaining potency), and then add organic glycerin. Most tinctures on the market are extracted from non-organic grain-based alcohol (many from GMO corn ethanol). While Supreme Nutrition Products is new to creating tinctures, the demand for a few antimicrobials for small children has made us decide to make a small line-up. Adults can also use these tinctures.

SUGGESTED USE:

The adult dose is 10-30 drops 3x/day. For children, dose according to weight (for example, for a 75-pound child, 5-8 drops 3x/day or 3-5 drops for a 25-pound child ). We recommend taking it for up to 2-weeks and then taking a break due to its potent effects.
